You are what you eat…

It’s an old statement but one that rings true. The quality of our diet has a direct impact on all physical processes in the body.

Supplementation is not always the answer.

For example, in order for calcium to be utilised by the bones, they also require magnesium, zinc and vitamin D. If there is a dietary deficiency of any of these nutrients, calcium absorption will be compromised regardless of the actual calcium intake you are getting in your diet or via tablets.

What does this mean?

It’s hard to know if your body is getting the nutrients it needs. Even when you do make healthy choices, you might not be absorbing everything you need. In fact, your needs may be higher than most.
